Dr. Kathleen Ammel (owner/optometrist), was born and raised in Lawrence, KS. After graduating from Kansas University with a B.A. in Biology, she attended and graduated from Indiana University School of Optometry in 1995. After helping establish a multi-site, private practice in Indianapolis and practicing for 11 years, she returned to Lawrence in August 2006 to be near family and enjoy the Kansas lifestyle with her husband and daughter. Purchasing a practice in Ottawa, KS proved to be an excellent choice. The practice has thrived as Ammel Optometry and now has grown.
Dr. Ammel is an American Optometric Association Member, Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, and a Member of the Kansas Optometric Association. Dr. Ammel is doing what she loves: helping patients utilize the latest technology to solve their visual needs.
